There are several options for shopping in Cancun and Riviera Maya area. The main super markets are in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, they offer a great variety of articles similar to the ones you can get in any of those type of stores at home. The super markets offer, groceries, meat, dairy, poultry, toys, refreshments, liquors, electronic, hardware, clothing, farmacy, furniture, film development, ATM, etc.

The convenience stores are small well stocked and very clean places where you can find a lot of items but meat, fruits and vegetables. They have bread, snacks, sodas, beers, liquors, ice, fast food, coffee, napkins, glasses, canned food, camera film, batteries, bottled water, ham, cheese, sausages, bacon, ketchup, etc. Some of them has ATM service available. Important: The convenience stores don't take credit cards as method of payment, they only accept cash in Mexican pesos or US dollars.
